Virginia Schmitt, a cherished wife, mother, grandparent, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, in Riverview, Florida. She was born on April 27, 1946, in Honduras. Virginia was known for her loving and playful personality—a reflection of her spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Her dedication to family was evident throughout her life, as she embraced the role of a caregiver with grace, strength, and compassion. She found great joy in traveling to see family and friends, preaching about her devoted faith, and enjoying simple things, such as dancing in the house to her favorite Spanish music while cooking in her kitchen. Virginia’s love for family extended beyond daily life; she thrived in creating lasting bonds and fostering a deep sense of connection.
Virginia leaves behind her daughters, Martha Sabillon Perdomo, Marlene S. Feliciano, and Abigail M. Garcia; her sons, Robert C. Schmitt, Robert R. Schmitt, and J.R., aka Junior; and her grandchildren, Alejandra M. Garcia, Felix Feliciano, Lissy Feliciano, and Sophie Feliciano, all of whom will forever cherish the memories of her unconditional love and guidance.
She was predeceased by her parents in Honduras; her husband, Robert R. Schmitt; her sons, Michael Schmitt of Riverview, Florida, and Luis Alonso Sabillon in Honduras; and her sister, Maria Antonia Perdomo Rivera, in Honduras.
