Susan Mistretta

Susan Mistretta, a cherished mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida, with her son, Robby Mistretta, and daughter, Michelle (Mistretta) Clark, by her side after a long struggle with severe COPD, a hernia, and the effects of a minor stroke.
Susan was born on April 17, 1944, in Glen Cove, New York. She was known for her deep love of family, a reflection of her kind and caring spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Susan’s dedication to her family was evident throughout her life as she embraced her roles as a mother and grandmother. She also compassionately cared for her own mother, Veronica Salvey. Susan found great joy in reading, music, and celebrating the achievements of her children and grandchildren.
Susan leaves behind her children, Robby (Phyllis) Mistretta and Michelle (Ken) Clark; her grandchildren, Danielle and Lauren Mistretta, and Riley and Arthur Clark; her sisters, Veronica Thyben and Jean Ciampi; and her brothers, John (Silvia) Salvey and Dennis (Cindy) Salvey. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom will forever cherish the memories of her unconditional love, guidance, and devotion.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Veronica (Gallagher) Salvey; her sister, Charlotte Ricco; and her brothers-in-law, Roger Thyben and Angelo Ciampi.
