Jose Alberto Vazquez, Jr.
12/17/1961 – 04/06/2026
Jose Alberto Vazquez Jr., 64, returned to our loving
Heavenly Father on April 6 th , 2026, in Ruskin, Florida, at
LifePath Sun City Hospice Center. Born on December 17,
1961, in Bronx, New York, Jose lived a life rich with
creativity, warmth, and a spirit that illuminated every room
he entered.
He is survived by his husband, Michael Szarf, and his
daughter, Chauncie Williams. He is also cherished by his
mother, Ada Velez Baker (Terrell), and is preceded in death
by his father, also named Jose Alberto Vazquez.
Jose leaves behind his beloved sisters: Rose Vazquez,
Myrna Quiroz (L. Gustavo), Sara Adee (Paul), A. Liza Mejias, and Barbara Roberts
(Akia). To them, he was the dependable brother who could fix anything, ease any
burden, and bring laughter into every conversation.
Known for his impeccable fashion sense, his gift for storytelling, and his natural eye for
décor, Jose had a rare ability to find beauty in anything. He was a talented tailor and
fashion designer, creating pieces that reflected both elegance and heart. His creativity
extended far beyond clothing—he also designed department store layouts, transforming
ordinary spaces into beautiful, inviting experiences. He was an entrepreneur in every
sense, someone who could take the smallest spark of an idea and turn it into something
extraordinary. His style was simplicity, but his impact was unforgettable.
Jose had a laugh that filled a room—full, warm, and contagious—and a smile that was
just as infectious. His joy made others laugh with him, often before they knew why. He
had pet nicknames for everyone, a teasing humor that made people feel loved, and a
way of helping others find confidence they didn’t know they had.
He was a talented cook, a devoted family man, and a steady presence who made life
feel lighter. His creativity, kindness, and the joy he carried with him will live on in the
hearts of all who knew him.
Jose’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the beauty he brought into the world simply
by being himself. He will be missed beyond measure, until we meet again in the light of
Heaven, where love never ends and souls are reunited.
