Austin W. Randall, Jr., born on January 11, 1948, in Manhattan, New York, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, Florida.
Austin had been a resident of Lutz, Florida, for more than 22 years. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne S. Randall, to whom he was married for 41 years; his son, Austin W. Randall III; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Groom; and his cherished cats, Bonnie and Clyde.
Austin worked in Rye, New York, at Rye Beach Pharmacy as an Orthotist. He was known for completing the New York Times crossword puzzle daily—in pen—and enjoyed spending his time golfing and bowling. Austin had a remarkable wit and a wealth of knowledge about sports and trivia, often bringing smiles to the faces of those around him with his sense of humor.
One of Austin’s greatest joys was watching his son, Austin W. Randall III, participate in sports and achieve several perfect games in bowling. Austin proudly credited his son’s bowling success to the techniques and skills he taught him over the years.
Austin will be remembered for his intelligence, humor, dedication to his family, and the lasting impact he had on the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Austin was entrusted to the care of Affordable Cremations of Central Florida in Tampa, Florida, where cremation arrangements have been made.
