William "Cass" Cassius Northam Jr

William “Cass” Cassius Northam Jr., 75, of Lutz, FL, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, FL.
Cass was born on August 25, 1950, in Hinsdale, IL to William Northam Sr. and Anna Green Northam. His parents operated a resort, Little Bit of Sweden, in Hayward, WI and he graduated from Hayward High School.
Cass was a man of many talents, dedicating his professional life to various careers as a retail manager, truck driver and, most notably, a Firefighter/EMT with the Altoona, WI Fire Department. His courage, dedication, and passion for service were recognized as he was honored twice as Firefighter of the Year.
Cass was a man of great character, always willing to extend a helping hand. His witty sense of humor brought joy and laughter to those around him. He loved his friends and family deeply and was always there to lighten their days with his caring spirit. His love for traveling, the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR created many cherished memories with those dear to him. Cass also had an affinity for smoking meats and grilling, his culinary skills were a beloved treat amongst family and friends.
Cass is preceded in death by his parents, William Northam Sr. and Anna Green Northam, his brother Richard Northam, and brother-in-law Donnie Urban. He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Northam; daughters Beth Northam, Michele Doughty (Levi), and Theresa Northam; stepsons Jacob Braun, Joshua Braun and their families. He was a cherished Papa to three grandchildren, McKenzie Stanton, Adalynn Northam, and Cayden Mann. He also leaves behind his sister Joan Urban, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Cass’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His profound impact on his loved ones and community will never be forgotten.
