Gail Louise Evenhouse (12/20/1943 – 3/15/2026)

Gail Louise Evenhouse passed away at her home on March 15, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Gail was born, the daughter of the late Clara Hayworth, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was the fourth of six children. She moved to Florida with her family in 1976.

She had a lifelong passion for teaching and caring for children. She owned her own child care facility for a number of years, as well as home daycares. Her influence on children and their parents made a wonderful impact in her community. She remained in contact with many of those families over the years.

Some of her favorite things included fresh strawberry shortcake, being at church, road trips, beach days, Patrick Mahomes, and Elvis Presley.

Her favorite way to spend her time was with her children and grandchildren. She was an amazing mother and grandma, ā€œNana.ā€ Gail is survived by her brother, Gordon Cookingham; her children, Jim (Wendy) Kirk, Beth Ireland, Amy Evenhouse, and Ashley (Daniel) Muriel; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Lauren, Christopher, Molly, Katie, Luke, and Jonah; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Annabelle, Cooper, and Ava.

She was preceded in passing by her brothers, John Cookingham and Barry Hayworth; sisters, Linda Johnson and Jill Polonski; and son-in-law, Jeff Ireland.

Gail accepted Christ as her Savior on May 23, 1996. She was a faithful member of West Gate Baptist Church. She enjoyed the ladies’ luncheons with her friends, as well as the music and children’s ministries.
